the emerald tent

The Emerald Tent is a circle-based practice devoted to compassionate care of our complex human nervous system. It offers a quiet, grounded place to gather when grief, anxiety, overwhelm, or even hope feel too heavy to carry alone.

Intentionally designed as a shared sensory and relational field, The Emerald Tent is held by three regulating presences: a deep growth forest, a circle of ten people, and caring guide. Each serves an active role within the practice, helping bodies settle, nervous systems orient, and the felt sense of safety to emerge.

When care is needed

The Emerald Tent is for people who are:

  • Carrying grief, anxiety, overwhelm, or quiet strain in their bodies

  • Navigating loss, transition, caregiving, frontline work, or sustained responsibility

  • Feeling emotionally flooded, numb, or braced — even if they can’t explain why

  • Seeking relief that is embodied and relational rather than analytical or outcome-driven

  • Wanting to be held in presence without needing to perform, explain, or improve

This practice is especially supportive for those who sense that what they’re carrying lives as much in the nervous system as it does in words.

anchoring in ritual

Emerald Tent circles are facilitated communal ritual spaces designed to support nervous system regulation and embodied coherence.

Each gathering follows a simple, steady rhythm:

  • Arrival into a quiet, contained space

  • Orientation through breath, silence, and shared presence

  • Gentle, uninterrupted sharing within the circle

  • Sound and stillness to support integration and energetic movement

  • A calm, deliberate closing

Sharing is always optional. Silence is welcomed. There is no advice-giving, interpretation, or cross-talk. You are free to pass at any time and participate within your own limits.

These circles are not talk therapy, coaching, or clinical treatment. No belief system, explanation, or prior experience is required.

You are welcome exactly as you are.

I nurture Emerald Tent circles within the following themes:

  • Grief: Pet Loss

  • Grief & Anxiety: First Responders

  • Grief & Overwhelm: Caregivers

  • Tending Prosperity (Manifestation)

All circles are held within the same ritual design and sensory field.

What differs is the orientation of what is being tended.

founding inspiration

Brody 2.jpeg

It all started with the loss of brody

The Emerald Tent was born in January 2026 by Lori Wallace in Encinitas, California out of her deep grief over the sudden death of her beloved canine companion, Brody.

Leveled by sudden loss and debilitating despair, Lori committed to bring a ritual of care that could nurture the soul beyond the limitations of speech and rational thought.

To learn more about the origins, philosophy, and guiding principles of The Emerald Tent, you’re welcome to explore and join the movement.

You do not need to arrive calm or clear.
You do not need to know what you will say.

The circle is here to meet what is present — and to hold it with care.
